I’m Gaynor, a Trauma-Informed Somatic-Based Practitioner, and a Solution-Focused Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist, located in Warrington, Cheshire.

My focus is supporting individuals in their journey towards physical, mental, and emotional well-being, to make positive changes in their life.

Using Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) approaches combined with psychotherapy, hypnosis, elements of positive psychology, Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP), Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and other neuroplasticity, mindfulness and somatic techniques.

Unlike traditional therapies Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy focuses on future solutions, building on your strengths and resources, to achieve positive lasting change, rather than digging up the past.

Helping you to become more aware of your thoughts and feelings in the present moment, and how they can influence your actions, to challenge them and intentionally make purposeful changes to shape new neural pathways to create the life you want.

I work in a trauma-informed way which means I approach my clients with the core belief that there is nothing inherently wrong with you, and let’s help you to heal the root cause (i.e. your nervous system) of your presenting struggles, in the context of your lived experiences - without having to revisit the past.

Fostering an inner sense of safety, peace, acceptance, self-confidence, freedom, connectedness to others, curiosity, and resilience.

Root-cause therapy is a holistic trauma healing modality that combines talk therapy with healing the nervous system, through a Polyvagal lens. To help you resolve unprocessed emotional pain & trauma that's held in the Body and Brain.

  • 4 Years of Experience as a practicing Freedom Fertility Formula Specialist (FFF), providing psychological and emotional healing support to those struggling to conceive, or pregnant after a difficult fertility journey (combines talk therapy with elements of NLP, CBT & Hypnosis)
  • EMDR & Psychological Trauma (LSCCA) using bilateral stimulation to allow your brain to make new neural connections & change core beliefs about yourself (2023)
  • Integrative Somatic Parts Work Certificate Level 1, 2 & 3 with Frances D. Booth (Embody Lab). Integrates the methodology of Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) & other trauma-informed models to support healing underlying past trauma
  • 11 Years of Experience as a practicing Clinical Reflexologist Level 5 Diploma (CRM5), supporting clients with both physical & emotional health, to help regulate the nervous system. Specialisms: fertility, stress & anxiety

A dysregulated nervous system can manifest in different symptoms.

 

Research has shown that unresolved accumulated stress, our unprocessed emotional pain, trauma, and unmet needs in childhood, shapes and informs how we feel, think, and behave. Having an impact on our physiology, as well as our mental and emotional health.

Flooding our system with stress hormones, such as cortisol and adrenaline, increasing inflammation in the body. Which can lead to chronic health conditions such as chronic pain, migraines, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), fibromyalgia, IBS, SIBO, colitis, UTIs, gynaecological & hormone related issues such as PMDD, fibroids, PCOS, endometriosis, acne, fertility issues, respiratory conditions, and arrhythmia (an irregular heartbeat) and more.

This is why my focus is empowering individuals to heal past and current traumas, by helping them to build healthy regulated nervous systems (without having to dig up the past), so they can break patterns and build resilence. Having a positive ripple effect on their physiology and all areas of their life.

Your Autonomic Nervous System is “Stuck” in “PROTECTION” mode, not realising you are “Safe” to receive the things you want.

Caused by a moment or moments in time, when your body went into a state of alarm, and your nervous system became dysregulated, because you weren't able to fully process what happened.

Your nervous system isn’t trying to harm you, it’s trying to “PROTECT” you from more stress and pain in the future.

So in fact you're right where you're supposed to be, you’re in self-protection (SURVIVAL MODE).

We just have to work on showing your body it’s now ‘SAFE’ to come out of Protection and into Connection, so you don't feel stuck.

Trauma is not defined by the event itself, but by the internal impact and emotional response it creates within a person, the lasting wound as a result of the stressful or overwhelming experience. Highlighting the potential for healing and change, as the internal wound of trauma can be addressed and transformed.

 

So you can choose to break unhelpful patterns, and self-limiting beliefs, that are keeping you stuck, and getting in the way of achieving your healing goals.

Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy, uses hybrids of coaching and therapy, to heal the root cause, i.e. your nervous system.

Helping to take your body & mind out of “PROTECTION” and into “CONNECTION”, to achieve homeostasis.
