I’m Gaynor, a trauma-informed solution focused clinical hypnotherapist and psychotherapist based in Warrington, Cheshire.

As a therapist my focus is on supporting individuals on their journey toward greater physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing, helping them make meaningful and lasting changes in their lives.

What is Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy?


The Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapists (AFSFH) describes Solution Focused Hypnotherapy as..."A modern type of talking therapy that uses solution focused questioning combined with trance."

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) harnesses the brain’s natural ability to change and adapt—its neuroplasticity—to support meaningful, lasting transformation. This approach helps regulate the nervous system, easing the body’s stress response and promoting a calmer, more balanced state. 

Rather than dwelling on problems or past difficulties, SFH gently guides you toward your strengths, goals, and preferred future. By focusing on what’s going well and what you want to achieve, the brain begins to rewire itself in healthier, more empowering ways. This process can reduce anxiety and low mood, enhance cognitive functioning, and often lead to positive change in fewer sessions compared with traditional talk therapy.

Solution-focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) uses Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) approaches, talk therapy (psychotherapy) & hypnosis (trance), and the Rewind Technique (developed for PTSD) - to utilise neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to physically reorganise itself (change/rewire) by forming new neural connections.

It also incorporates elements of positive psychology, Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP), Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and other neuroplasticity, mindfulness techniques.

Additionally, I am trained in EMDR (developed for PTSD), Somatic Parts Work (which integrates the method of IFS), Root-Cause Therapy (RCT) (which uses regression and integrates the methodology of Timeline Therapy).

Incorporating elements of this evidence-based tool into sessions, to help you process trauma, anxiety, phobias, weight management and much more. EMDR is a comprehensive psychological therapy, used to reduce negative thought processes, whilst boosting positive thought processes.

  • Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy Diploma, with the Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training (CPHT), the Gold Standard in Solution Focused
  • 4 Years of Experience as a practicing Root-Cause Therapy (RCT) Practitioner, supporting clients with both physical, mental and emotional health (TCFH)
  • 5 Years of Experience as a practicing Freedom Formula Specialist (FFF), providing psychological and emotional healing support (combines talk therapy with elements of NLP, CBT & Hypnosis)
  • EMDR & Psychological Trauma (LSCCA) using bilateral stimulation to allow your brain to make new neural connections & change core beliefs about yourself (2023)
  • Integrative Somatic Parts Work Certificate Level 1, 2 & 3 with Frances D. Booth (Embody Lab). Integrates the methodology of Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) & other trauma-informed models to support healing underlying past trauma
  • 12 Years of Experience as a practicing Clinical Reflexologist Level 5 Diploma (CRM5), supporting clients with both physical & emotional health, to help regulate the nervous system.
